Preparation
In a deep skillet or medium pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Let it sit for a minute before stirring to allow for browning.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the beef, cooking until the onion is translucent.
If using, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until tender.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
Add the egg noodles to the pot, pushing them down so they are submerged, and simmer until they are tender.
Once noodles are cooked, lower the heat and stir in the sour cream and optional cream cheese or heavy cream until creamy.
Adjust the consistency with more broth or water if the mixture is too thick.
Serve hot and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
